About the Role:

This role involves the precision manufacturing of parts for cartoning machines and specialized agriculture equipment. Working for a leader in the agricultural sector, the successful candidate will provide essential engineering services to support high-speed carton erecting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Precision Turning: Execute high-quality turning operations to produce essential machine components.
• CNC Preparation and Planning: Prepare and plan for CNC machine operations to ensure production schedules are met efficiently.
• Material Strategy: Identify and plan for the specific materials required to meet various job and engineering requirements.
• Workstation Management: Maintain a clean, neat, and organized workspace at all times to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
• Concurrent Machine Operation: Operate two or more machines simultaneously where possible to optimize manufacturing output.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Red seal Toolmaker
• Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle.
• Must be highly proficient in both conventional and CNC lathe operations.
• Must have technical knowledge regarding CNC Mills.

Additional Information (Optional):

• Candidates will be required to work every second Saturday.

The successful candidate will join the manufacturing team in Springs and be responsible for the manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures to ensure optimal machine performance, production efficiency, and product quality. This role offers the opportunity to work in a technically advanced manufacturing environment while contributing to the continuous improvement of production processes and tooling systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Tooling Fabrication & Maintenance: Manufacture, repair, and modify tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support ongoing production operations.
• Technical Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications for precise tool construction.
• Precision Machining: Execute precision fitting, grinding, and assembly work using conventional toolroom machinery.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and scheduled preventative maintenance on all tooling equipment.
• Production Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve die-related production issues to minimize machine downtime.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufactured and repaired tooling meets rigorous production and quality standards.
• Operational Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve overall tooling performance and efficiency.
• Safety & Administration: Maintain a clean, safe environment and keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements

• Must be a Qualified Tool and Die Maker
• Relevant experience within a manufacturing environment, specifically with press tools, moulds, and production tooling.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and perform precise measurements.
• Proven fault-finding abilities and the capacity to work independently under pressure.
• A valid driver’s license and access to your own reliable vehicle are required.
