Job Description

About the Role:

This company is a global leader in oil-free piston compressors, particularly renowned for PET bottling and various other industrial applications, offering both high and low-pressure solutions including 20-40 bar PET compressors and 8-10 bar OPC range compressors. With over 150 years of expertise, they are synonymous with reduced energy consumption due to their simple design, which naturally leads to savings with fewer parts and low speed, resulting in the lowest energy consumption on the PET market. Their commitment to simple mechanical design also ensures the lowest maintenance costs, providing control over Total Cost of Ownership and Life Cycle Management in the long term. They have a comprehensive global service network, including dedicated after-sales support and local service engineers at every subsidiary worldwide.

They are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team, contributing directly to the optimal functionality and reliability of their advanced compressor systems globally. This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of electrical and mechanical systems in a supportive environment, focusing on enhancing equipment performance and ensuring high client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Installation & Commissioning: Install, commission, and ensure the optimal functionality of machinery and systems at client sites.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct necessary repairs on various equipment types and sizes, including oil-free 2-stage piston compressors and high-pressure PET compressors. Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures and maintenance manuals.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify and analyze equipment malfunctions to pinpoint underlying causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • PLC Programming: Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs to enhance equipment performance and address operational issues.
  • Pneumatic Systems: Understand and maintain pneumatic components, ensuring their proper operation within integrated systems.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, with particular attention to food safety environments, and stay updated with general site safety rules.
  • Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing technical inquiries, providing training, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, issues encountered, and solutions implemented, and prepare detailed service reports for internal and client reference.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical environments, with a strong focus on fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and a solid understanding of pneumatic component operations. Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, control panels, and fault-finding is essential.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 70% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working in food safety environments and knowledgeable about general site safety rules.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive remuneration.
  • Company phone, company laptop, and company car.
  • Group risk insurance.
  • All necessary travel expenses paid for by the company, along with a living out allowance due to regular travel.
  • Opportunities for training and skills development.
