About the Role:

The successful candidate will be based in a workshop environment responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel-powered equipment used in drilling and mining operations.

This role focuses on supporting operational equipment through preventative maintenance and major repairs, including full engine rebuilds. The position is ideally suited to a hands-on Diesel Mechanic with strong technical ability and experience working on heavy-duty machinery and engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics and fault finding on diesel engines and associated mechanical systems
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on heavy equipment
  • Strip, inspect, and rebuild diesel engines, including Deutz 912/913 series engines
  • Recondition and replace engine components such as pistons, liners, bearings, and seals
  • Assemble engines and components according to required specifications and tolerances
  • Conduct general workshop repairs on mechanical systems including brakes, steering, and auxiliary components
  • Maintain accurate job cards and service records
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards within the workshop
  • Communicate repair requirements and feedback to internal teams

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) – Diesel Mechanic
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience
