About the Role:

The company is looking for a qualified Electrician to join a specialized team focused on clinical engineering and medical equipment reliability. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of sophisticated electrical systems across hospitals, clinics, and private practices. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment where their technical expertise directly impacts the safety and efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance and Servicing: Perform planned and unplanned electrical maintenance on a wide range of medical equipment to ensure continuous operational readiness.
  • Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Efficiently identify electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs to minimize device downtime in critical healthcare settings.
  • Calibration and Compliance: Conduct equipment calibrations in line with SAHPRA and Department of Health (DoH) standards to ensure all devices meet legal and safety requirements.
  • On-Site Technical Support: Travel to various medical facilities to provide hands-on technical assistance, always maintaining professional communication with clients.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate job cards, maintenance logs, and compliance records to support quality control and regulatory audits.
  • Safety and Standards Adherence: Ensure all work is performed according to strict health, safety, and electrical regulations, maintaining ISO-certified standards of workmanship.

 

Requirements

  • Red Seal Electrician.
  • Technical qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably within the medical or healthcare technology sector.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and fault-finding.
  • A valid drivers license is essential for work-related travel to client sites.
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required to meet urgent repair needs.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and industrial automation is considered an advantage.
