About the Role

This organization is a solutions-based technology company operating across Sub-Saharan Africa, with over 14 years of experience serving the tunneling, mining, industrial, and contract manufacturing sectors. Through its Engineering, Fabrication, and Assembly divisions, the company delivers innovative manufacturing and engineering solutions to a diverse client base.

The successful candidate will join the manufacturing team in Springs and be responsible for the manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures to ensure optimal machine performance, production efficiency, and product quality. This role offers the opportunity to work in a technically advanced manufacturing environment while contributing to the continuous improvement of production processes and tooling systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Machinery Operation: Operate conventional and/or CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines.
• Precision Manufacturing: Manufacture, modify, and repair precision components according to specific engineering requirements.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job cards.
• Machine Setup: Configure machines by selecting the appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for the task.
• Quality Inspection: Use precision instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges to measure and inspect completed parts.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery and equipment to ensure functionality.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining an organized work environment.
• Production Support: Assist with equipment breakdowns and repairs to support overall production efficiency.

Requirements

• Qualified Fitter and Tuner
• Proven experience as a Machinist within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and precision measurement.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Valid South African Driver’s License and own reliable vehicle.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
