About the Role
Join a leading technology and infrastructure services company specialising in electrical and water utility metering solutions across South Africa.
The successful candidate will form part of the Audit and Assessment team and work closely with a Senior Technician while receiving ongoing technical guidance and mentorship. The role is focused on conducting meter audits, inspections, troubleshooting and compliance assessments at client sites.
This position offers exposure to a wide range of metering technologies and provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrician to develop specialised technical skills within a growing industry.
The role involves regular travel throughout South Africa. Projects may require candidates to spend several days or a week away from home at a time, depending on client requirements and project locations.
Key Responsibilities
Meter Audits & Inspections: Conduct electrical and water meter audits and inspections to ensure accurate meter placement, functionality and billing compliance.
Meter Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain and verify utility meters according to legal and industry standards.
Fault Finding & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve meter-related faults and technical issues to ensure accurate meter readings and reliable operation.
Documentation & Reporting: Complete job cards, audit reports and compliance documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
Customer Communication: Engage professionally with clients, provide updates and address technical concerns.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with legal requirements, industry regulations and health and safety standards.
Technical Diagnostics: Perform testing, diagnostics and investigations to identify and resolve technical metering issues.
Team Support: Work closely with Senior Technicians during audits, inspections and project work while developing technical competency and industry knowledge.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Qualified Electrician (Trade Test Required)
• Minimum 2 years' technical experience
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Valid driver's licence
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• 3-Phase Wireman's Licence advantageous
