About the Role

The company is seeking a dedicated Field Technician to maintain, repair, and improve equipment to ensure the highest levels of reliability and performance. In this role, the successful candidate will work in mine site conditions, including both underground and surface applications, and will be a key part of a team committed to technological innovation and world-class safety standards.
This position requires physical effort and a willingness to work shifts and after-hours as needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical troubleshooting of equipment while adhering strictly to high quality and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Perform the installation and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure it meets strict performance and quality standards.
- Breakdown Resolution: Respond to and resolve equipment breakdowns timeously and effectively to minimize operational downtime.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Conduct complex troubleshooting and repairs on specialized mining equipment to improve reliability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain efficient verbal and written communication with clients and management, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvements.
- Administrative Documentation: Ensure the accurate and timeous completion and submission of all required documentation, including orders, reports, and vehicle logs.
- Safety and Quality Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company and mine-specific safety, health, environment, and quality policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
- Red Seal qualification as a Millwright or in Electrical.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Field Service role.
- Extensive experience within the mining industry and specific product knowledge.
- Strong customer service focus and efficient communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical work in demanding mine environments and work shifts/after-hours.
- Technical knowledge in equipment repair and a commitment to teamwork and knowledge sharing.
