About the Role

An established mixed farming business in Vaalwater, Limpopo (operating since 2007) is seeking an experienced Fitter & Turner to join its workshop team. Our diverse agricultural operations include seed maize, tobacco, potatoes, onions, groundnuts, and Brahman cattle, along with two on-farm groundnut processing factories.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our day-to-day operations by maintaining and servicing our farm workshop machinery and factory equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Workshop Support: Carry out core Fitter & Turner work and repairs within the farm workshop to support day-to-day operations.
• Farm Operations Support: Maintain and support the workshop requirements of the mixed farming operation across its diverse agricultural activities.
• Factory Support: Provide essential workshop and technical maintenance support linked directly to our two on-farm groundnut processing factories.
• Operational Availability: Maintain willingness to work additional hours when operational and seasonal requirements make it necessary.

Requirements

• Qualified Fitter & Turner.
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
• Own reliable transport to the farm is required (located approximately 20 km from Vaalwater).
• Own accommodation is required, as farm housing is currently not available.
• Ability to work general labor hours from 07:30 to 16:00, Monday to Saturday (totalling 45 hours per week). Willingness to attend early morning management meetings at 06:30 and work additional hours when operational needs demand it.
