About the Role
Join a leading South African technology company specialising in utility management, smart metering and infrastructure solutions. The organisation provides innovative electrical and water metering solutions to clients across South Africa.
The successful candidate will form part of the Field Services team and be responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting utility metering infrastructure at client sites.
This position is primarily focused on day-to-day client visits within the region. The successful candidate will work independently, managing service calls, fault-finding activities and client interactions while ensuring a high standard of technical support.
This role is ideal for a hands-on Electrician who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Meter Installation & Maintenance: Install, inspect and maintain electrical and water utility meters according to company standards.
Fault Finding & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair meter faults to ensure accurate readings and reliable operation.
Technical Reporting: Complete job cards, service reports and technical documentation accurately and on time.
Customer Engagement: Communicate professionally with clients, provide updates and resolve technical concerns.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with company procedures, industry standards and health and safety regulations.
Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to clients both onsite and remotely when required.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Qualified Electrician (Trade Test Required)
• Minimum 2 years' technical experience
• Valid driver's licence
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
