As a Millwright, you will be responsible for the inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment within the plant. Your role will directly contribute to ensuring continuous production, minimizing downtime, and maintaining optimal equipment performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position offers exposure to large-scale plant operations, structured maintenance systems, and the opportunity to grow within a well-established organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repairs:

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
• Conduct daily inspections and report any deviations
• Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs efficiently
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately

Preventative Maintenance:

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programmes
• Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to optimal operating standards

Plant Performance:

• Ensure continuous operation of production equipment
• Minimize downtime through proactive maintenance and fast response to breakdowns

Projects & Improvements:

• Assist with minor plant improvements and modifications
• Support initiatives to improve equipment performance and reliability
• Manage and utilize critical spares effectively

Standby Duties:

• Perform standby duties as required
• Respond to after-hours breakdowns and urgent maintenance issues

Compliance & Safety:

• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and company policies
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses
• Ensure all tools and equipment are used safely

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Trade Test Certificate: Millwright
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production environment
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
• Experience in an animal feed or FMCG environment will be advantageous (not essential)

Key Competencies:

Technical:

• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
• Solid understanding of preventative maintenance practices
• Knowledge of production machinery and processes
