About the Role:

The company is looking for a dedicated and skilled Diesel Mechanic to join a leading automotive service provider committed to high standards of safety and workmanship. In this role, the successful candidate will be a key member of the workshop team, taking the lead on all repairs and ensuring every vehicle is returned to the road in peak condition. The candidate will work in a clean, modern environment where quality and customer safety are the top priorities.

In this position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models using state-of-the-art diagnostic technology. The candidate will lead a small team of assistants, fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering miles and miles of smilesthrough exceptional service and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Assessment: Conduct thorough bumper-to-bumper inspections and use electronic diagnostic tools to identify faults and safety concerns.
  • Service and Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance, including fluid flushes, oil changes, and checking essential systems like brakes, batteries, and timing belts.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Repairs: Carry out complex repairs on engines, clutches, suspensions, and air-conditioning systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Workshop Supervision: Lead and supervise workshop assistants, ensuring that all work meets the highest level of workmanship and safety standards.
  • Parts Procurement: Assist in identifying and sourcing high-quality replacement parts from suppliers to facilitate timely repairs.
  • Housekeeping Management: Maintain a spotlessly clean and organized workshop environment to reflect professional standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Red Seal: Diesel Mechanic
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional workshop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of auto electrical systems and diagnostic fault-finding.
  • Previous supervisory experience is considered a beneficial asset.
