About the Role:
This company is an industry leader in coal and biomass milling plant solutions, providing a full value chain from design to installation. The company is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Turner Machinist to produce high-quality components for critical energy projects, including work related to major power stations. In this role, the successful candidate will be part of a dynamic operations team focused on enhancing the reliability of essential power assets through precision manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup and Operation: Sets up and operates conventional lathes or boring mills to perform precise operations such as turning, facing, threading, and drilling.
- Technical Drawing Interpretation: Analyses technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine the necessary machining steps for each component.
- Precision Quality Control: Measures and inspects finished products using precision instruments like micrometres and callipers to ensure they meet engineering specifications.
- Equipment Maintenance: To perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Production Documentation: Maintains accurate records of all production activities and completes necessary job documentation efficiently.
- Safety and Collaboration: Adheres to strict safety protocols while collaborating with engineers and quality control personnel to resolve any machining issues.
Requirements
- Fitter and Turner: Red Seal Qualification.
- Technical Proficiency Skilled in the use of manual lathe machines and proficient in reading complex technical blueprints.
- Experience of a minimum of 3 years as a Turner or Machinist in a manufacturing or engineering environment is beneficial.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively and independently within a team.
