About the Role:
This role is central to ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical and electromechanical systems within the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will support production by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on converting machinery and other plant equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Maintenance & Repair Perform routine troubleshooting and repairs on all production and support equipment.
- Converting Machinery Service Maintain and service specialized converting equipment, including wrappers, embossers, slitters, and rewinders.
- System Fault Diagnosis Diagnose and repair faults across complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Preventative Programs Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance as scheduled to ensure plant reliability.
- Technical Documentation Read, interpret, and work accurately from electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Installation Support Assist the maintenance team with modifications, installations, and upgrades of systems and machinery.
- Safety & Compliance Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory and internal regulations.
- Breakdown Response Respond promptly to production calls and address equipment breakdowns immediately.
- Planning Support Support the Maintenance Supervisor in developing comprehensive maintenance plans and reporting on equipment performance.
Requirements
- Trade Test Certificate: Electrician (Red Seal preferred).
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair converting machinery.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Basic working knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems is required.
- Must be bilingual (English / Afrikaans, both written and verbal proficiency is required).
