Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

About the Role:

They are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join the team of a well-established company that has grown to be a national supplier in South Africa and neighboring states. Founded in 2003, the company specializes in agricultural lime and gypsum and has expanded its activities to a variety of lime-related products for various industries. The role involves carrying out scheduled, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and availability through technical expertise and hands-on maintenance, contributing to operational excellence

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on diesel-powered equipment.
• Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose and repair faults on heavy-duty vehicles, mobile plants, and industrial machinery.
• Continuous Improvement: Apply technical knowledge to drive continuous improvement and ensure maximum uptime of equipment.
• Component Management: Conduct inspections, adjustments, and component replacements as needed.
• Safety and Environment: Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices and standards.

Requirements:

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal Trade Test).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic (Only Preferred).
• Code B driver’s license with own reliable transport.
• Strong knowledge of diesel-powered mining and earthmoving equipment.
• Ability to work independently and solve mechanical problems effectively.
• Sound understanding of HSE standards and safe work practices.
