About the Role:
The successful candidate will join a leading industrial services provider that offers turnkey solutions in sectors such as formwork, scaffolding, modular buildings, and portable sanitation. The role involves supporting the development of new products that meet strict safety standards and client specifications.
Working under the supervision of an engineer, the incumbent will assist in developing products designed to deliver a strong return on investment. Key Responsibilities:
- Load Testing and Data Processing: Conduct tests on standalone items or complete systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and prepare formal reports on the findings.
- Prototype Manufacturing: Transform conceptual designs into physical, full-scale products for testing and demonstration purposes.
- CAD Utilisation: Develop detailed 2D and 3D models of proposed products and produce accurate manufacturing drawings.
- Workshop Operations: Perform material conversion using carbon steel, aluminium, and other materials through manual machining tasks such as milling and drilling.
Requirements:
- Qualified Millwright or Fitter and Turner
- Creative problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
- Willingness to spend approximately 70% of working hours on the workshop floor.
- Basic manual machining skills, including milling, drilling, and turning.
- Ability to work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, aluminium, plastic, and wood.
- Experience with testing equipment and an understanding of structural steel codes will be considered beneficial.
