About the Role:
Since 1984, the organization has been a leading manufacturer and supplier of roof support systems and ventilation ducting for the underground mining industry. It prides itself on delivering innovative, safe, and cost-effective products. The company is seeking a qualified Toolmaker to manage essential tool maintenance and servicing. In this role, the successful candidate will apply first-principles toolmaking skills including ensuring clearances, pillar conditioning, and die functionality while operating milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders to support production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Die Maintenance and Servicing: Perform regular maintenance and servicing on dies, ensuring optimal condition of internals and functionality.
- Production Change Overs: Execute precise tool and die changeovers in accordance with production planning and schedules.
- Section Allocation Management: Manage the specific allocation of dies within the section that require maintenance to ensure production remains on track.
- Continuous Production Support: Provide ongoing die servicing and minor improvements to support the continuous production of mining equipment.
Requirements:
- Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) – Toolmaker.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Practical experience in first-principal toolmaking, specifically maintaining die conditions and clearances.
- Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, and surface grinding equipment.
- The ability to identify and implement minor die developments and improvements.
