About the Role:

This company is a global leader in the production of meat and poultry processing equipment, with a century-long reputation for quality and dependability. It specializes in advanced machinery for slaughtering, meat cutting, and boning across various sectors, including beef, pork, sheep, and poultry. As a Millwright within the Design Office and Engineering Department, the role is a vital part of the technical team. The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and reliability of complex mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring that operations and products meet exacting international quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform comprehensive mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repairs on specialized plant equipment.
  • Electrical Installation: Carry out the installation, testing, and commissioning of motors, control panels, and electrical drives.
  • Breakdown Management: Diagnose technical issues and repair machinery breakdowns promptly to minimize operational downtime.
  • Technical Documentation: Read and accurately interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute all scheduled and planned maintenance tasks to ensure long-term equipment reliability.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to company standards and official safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Machinery Upgrades: Provide technical assistance for the modification, improvement, and upgrading of existing machinery.
  • Reporting and Records: Maintain detailed and accurate records and reports of all maintenance and repair activities performed.
  • Commissioning Support: Assist in the commissioning process for new production lines and industrial equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be a qualified Millwright - Red seal
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 yearspost-qualification experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong expertise in pneumatics, PLCs (fault-finding and basic programming), and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
  • Working experience with bearings, gearboxes, shafts, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Ability to use tools such as multimeters and insulation testers for fault-finding.
  • Must possess a valid drivers licence.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, high safety awareness, and strong problem-solving skills.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 to 16:30.
  • Friday: 07:00 to 15:00.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and emergency breakdowns, is essential.
