About the Role:

This organization manufactures a niche water-cooled refrigeration solution in South Africa, supplying and installing the systems for clients across the retail refrigeration sector. The organization is looking for an installer to focus specifically on the water reticulation side of each installation, working alongside an in-house team of Refrigeration Technicians. Refrigeration-specific skills are not required for this role, as that side of the installation is handled by other specialists on the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage and lead a small team, including two assistants, on each installation.
• Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and pipe schematics.
• Piping Installation: Install galvanized water piping and PVC piping with solvent weld fittings, ranging from 20mm to 160mm in diameter.
• Welding and Fabrication: Arc weld base frames and support brackets, and mount pumps to completed frames.
• Pipe Assembly: Build pipe assemblies as part of the installation process.
• Pipe Tray Installation: Install piping trays, similar to electrical cable trays, suspended from roof trusses and underneath concrete slabs.

Requirements:

• Fitter & Turner Red Seal qualification.
• Proven, hands-on working experience in a similar installation role.
• Valid South African driver's license, with willingness to travel within South Africa and SADC countries.
• Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment, with strong planning and problem-solving ability.
• Strong communication skills, able to liaise clearly with department managers, contractors, and customers.
• Physically fit and healthy, and able to work at heights.
