They are seeking a qualified Electrician to support the maintenance and reliability of their extensive plant equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Start-up & Inspections: Perform daily start-up procedures and checklist inspections on production machinery.
- Breakdowns & Repairs: Attend to and efficiently resolve electrical breakdowns across the entire plant.
- Planned Maintenance: Perform planned and unplanned electrical maintenance on plant equipment.
- Equipment Servicing: Service and maintain various types of equipment, including scheduling services for specialised machinery.
- Regulatory Inspections: Complete quarterly inspections as required by OHSA.
- Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose electrical faults on circuits, motors, sensors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and related systems, and carry out necessary repairs.
- Motor Repairs: Test and replace various motors including conveyor, drum, refrigeration fan, and compressor motors.
- Food Machinery: Work on and maintain food processing machinery in compliance with food-grade standards.
- Lifting Systems: Maintain hoists, pendulum systems, and associated control systems on lifting equipment.
- Installations & Upgrades: Perform electrical installations and system upgrades, including DB board and panel wiring.
- Compliance Testing: Conduct electrical testing and assist with issuing Electrical Certificates of Compliance (COCs).
- MV Systems: Maintain MV substations, breakers, and transformers.
- Documentation: Complete and maintain risk assessments, job cards, and maintenance logs.
- Spares Ordering: Order and track necessary spare parts to support maintenance schedules.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and electrical regulations.
- Reporting & Communication: Attend daily engineering meetings and report non-conformances to your supervisor.
- Availability: Be available for standby and call-outs, including weekend work and overtime as required.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across departments.
- Continuous Learning: Maintain a proactive approach to learning and expanding your knowledge.
Requirements:
- Electrician Qualification – Red Seal trade certification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, control panels, and fault-finding techniques.
- Experience with PLC systems and industrial automation is considered a significant advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.
