This role involves contributing to operational excellence within automation systems. The successful candidate will apply their expertise in a dynamic environment, developing control concepts, executing detailed electrical designs, and managing the commissioning of equipment. Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Costing Assistance: Assist with the estimation and calculation of electrical costs for projects.
• Control Concept Development & Hardware Selection: Develop control concepts and select appropriate hardware for automation systems, guided by requests for quotations and engineering principles.
• Detail Electrical Design: Prepare detailed electrical designs, potentially using tools like PowerPoint or Visio, for customer review and sign-off.
• Installation Planning: Create comprehensive plans for electrical manufacturing and subsequent on-site installation.
• Equipment Commissioning: Conduct pre-commissioning and full commissioning activities for plant equipment.
• Documentation & Reporting: Responsible for documenting processes and generating necessary reports.
• Site Safety Implementation: Ensure the implementation of site safety measures during the commissioning phase of a plant.
• Team Supervision & Support: Supervise and provide support to the electrical project manufacturing and installation team.
• Project Planning & Execution: Plan and execute electrical projects, overseeing their progress from start to finish.
• Standby & Callouts: Participate in standby duties and respond to callouts as required.

Requirements:

• Trade Certification- Red Seal Electrician.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial automation.
• Proven experience managing projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of electronic systems and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electrical design and testing, including E-Plan (advantageous).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
• Solid understanding of electrical processes and compliance with South African (SANS 10142) and relevant international standards.
